E J Johnson is a native of Norfolk,Virginia. He is the host of The Sacred Storm exclusively on Joy 97.com The Sacred Storm features mellow mid tempo gospel songs that has messages from the heart and music that touches the soul. E J has over 15 years of radio broadcasting experience. E J started his career in radio as an on air personality and gospel music director for KAOS radio on board the USS Indepedence Yokosuka, Japan.

As founder, producer and host, E J started an dynamic popular sunday morning radio show in Hampton Roads, Virginia called The Urban Gospel Showcase which was featured on WNSB Norfolk State University Radio, WGPL & WPCE of The Willis Broadcasting Company.

In 1991, God gave EJ a vision to start an international gospel radio station that would spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout Japan and the United States. After many years of prayers and unmovable faith in Christ, this dream has now become reality. Joy 97.1 is a bilingual internet radio station that broadcasts urban gospel music in English and Japanese. Our broadcast can be heard 24 hours a day.
